Mr. George Rudolph Bell was born November 3, 1938 in Lake City, FL to the late George R. Bell and Mary Louise Choice.  He departed his earthly home on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. 


George was united in holy matrimony to Doris Louise Bacon on July 8, 1972.  He was a loving compassionate husband, son, father, grandfather and friend who devoted his life to those he loved.  His quiet charismatic personality touched the lives of many who were fortunate to have known him. He loved driving his RV and enjoying his family and friends.



George was baptized the 14th of April, 1989 by the late Pastor John Gadling and became a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Southside, where he served faithfully. He later transferred his membership to St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. R.T. Rhim, Pastor.



George was educated in the Columbia County School Systems graduating from Richardson High, Lake City, FL, June,1954.  After graduating he joined the U.S. Navy, serving our Country for 20 years, receiving multiple medals.  After retiring from the military he became employed with the U.S. Postal Service where he retired for the second time in 2003.



George affiliations includes Lavilla Sportsman Club, American Legion Post 197, Northeast Florida Campers and Broward Kounty Kampers.



George leaves to cherish his memory a dedicated wife Doris Bacon Bell, three daughters, Vanetta Jackson, Michelle Foster and Pat Quarterman, three sons, George Lorenzo Bell, Louis Quarterman (Evelyn) and Anthony Quarterman; Ten grandchildren, Kionna (Calvin) Willis, Tourea (LeNard) Robinson, Riā€™chard Glass, Kimberly (Brian) Thomas, Antonette (Billy) Alexis, Latasha Quarterman, Cedric Tutson, Tameka (Arthur) Arline, James IV (Jasmin) Foster, Michael Jamal Foster; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Benjamin Bell, New Orleans, LA, sisters: Joyce (Alfonzo) Reeves, Sylvia (Osman) Michael, New York, Robin Harris; brother-in-law, Julius (Juanita) Bacon, devoted cousin Bryan Thomas, God daughter, Ashley Perry and host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
